4.6 oz/130 g Contains MOHAIR. No ANGORA.
The Kitchen Sink batt series is a line of unique, chunky, artsy batts created in a more random way than my usual batts, with less concern for blending and opening of the fibers. They contain any combination of fiber bits at hand, including:
Wools, soft to medium
Silk- top, fluff, noils, threads, thread bits
Bamboo, Tencel and milk fiber- shiny rayon-type fibers
Wool locks and uncarded fleece- usually my endless supply of lovely, crimpy, soft Corriedale, but sometimes I will add a bit of a long wool lock if I feel the color or texture is necessary in the composition.
Angelina (poly or mylar glitz) and firestar (fine nylon sparkle)
Hemp and flax- undyed. Usually hemp, as I have plenty on hand, and it has a shorter staple than flax, so easier to spin in.
The Kitchen Sink batts all corespin marvelously, but also work for regular spinning. If you allow the fiber to be itself and don't overly concern yourself with lumps and bumps, you will spin a lovely, lumpy, soft yarn full of life. But, if you want, I can run the batt through the carder a second time, for a looser, more open batt, with more blending of textures and colors but still artsy.
If you have any questions about how to spin batts, please email me at FatCatKnits [!at] gmail.com and we can talk :)
Hand wash, lay flat to dry. Definitely not repeatable :)
